Clean water for Africa !

98% of the population on the continent drinks polluted water. Since 2004, P&G, the PUR brand and our partners have proudly shared over one billion liters of clean water with people in need. And now we have an even more ambitious goal: to share more than three and a half billion liters by the year 2012. Africanist Balázs Mihálffy quoted: The quality of water in Africa suits the regulations compared to Europe in 2 % and the rest may cause deadly diseases.

“The children’s safe drinking water program” consists of emergency relief work and establishing not-for-profit markets to provide our safe drinking water technology to children and their families in the developing world.

In many parts of the world, people have no running water and are forced to drink directly from contaminated rivers, wells and streams filled with bacteria, parasites and viruses that can make children extremely sick with diarrhea. In the developing world, this is a leading cause of death among infants and causes cholera, typhoid fever and dysentery.

“The Children’s Safe Drinking Water program” is focused on reducing sickness and death resulting from drinking contaminated water.

When you purchase any PUR water filteration product, a donation will be made to the Children’s Safe Drinking Water program, helping our partners to distribute PUR packets to more people in the developing world.

Through a unique alliance with a diverse network of not-for-profit organizations and volunteers, P&G is providing PUR packets to people in need around the globe.
