A colourful group of active and retired diplomats, scientists, media representatives, researchers,, economists inspired by the almost mythical appeal of Latin America rejoined at the Makadám Engineer Club their counterparts from overseas
The ambassadors – Adriana Gottberg Gil chargé d’affaires of Venezuela, Domingo Santiago Cullen, ambassador of Argentine, Sérgio Eduardo Moreira Lima ambassador of Brazil, Jaime Augusto Barberis Martinez, ambassador of Ecuador, Rodrigo José Nieto Maturana ambassador of Chile and Alejandro Gomez Rodriguez, secretary of the Mexican embassy warmly welcomed the initiative.
Ms. Adriana Gottberg Gil, Chargé d’affaires of Venezuela, envisioned strong potential to deepen mutual relations, Mr. Domingo Santiago Cullen, ambassador of Argentina pointed out the rewarding essence of cultural and economical ties. Mr. Sérgio Eduardo Moreira Lima, ambassador of Brazil commented the bright example of a samba school, marching at the Sao Paulo carnival dressed up in Hungarian folklore costumes. The ambassador of Ecuador, Mr. Jaime Augusto Barberis Martinez solicited potential visitors to the exposition of the hungarian-born equadorian artist Olga Fisch at the Budapest Cervantes Institute. Mr. Rodrigo José Maturana, ambassador of Chile reassured the present about his strong commitment to further support the Latimo mutilateral endeavours. Mr. Alejandro Gomez Rodriguez, representative of Mexico, accentuated the fruitful cooperation in various educational fields and paid special tribute to the exposition Mexico Ilustrado at the WAM Design Center in Budapest where one of the highlights are the works of Hungarian-born sculptor resident in Acapulco, Pál Kepenyes

LATIMO: Latin American diplomats visited the Hungarian-Latin American Association
High-rank Latin American diplomats gathered last Wednesday in Budapest to exchange ideas with the representatives of Latimo, the Hungarian-Latin American Association. Mr. Sándor Balogh, chairman of Latimo, inaugurating this first, but not last meeting, pointed out its friendly and quite informal ambience, as well as its unique nature – Latimo is one of very few NGOs to support, governmental institutions in enhancing cultural, educational and economical relations with foreign countries beyond the frames of conventions.
