As Mr. Balogh said about his journey, he had already been interested in Brazil before but since he was asked to be the President of LATIMO – Hungarian-Latin American Union, he would like to get first-hand impressions about this dominant state of Latin America. Besides this, as a Hungarian entrepreneur who has a stake in different economic fields and is a rational thinker, he would like to map out this stable, solid and fast-growing market which is definitely noteworthy, especially concerning the present situation of Hungarian and European economies. Janos Martonyi has negotiations from Wednesday; in Rio de Janeiro he meets Carlos Mariani Bittencourt , Vice-President of the Confederation of Industrialists of Rio de Janeiro, then he makes a speech to the members. He then travels to Sao Paulo the same day where he meets the representatives of Hungarians living there.
On Thursday Mr. Martonyi meets Mr. Paulo Skaf, President of the Confederation of Industrialists, and Mr. Guilherme Afiffal, Vice-Regent of the State of Sao Paulo.
On Friday Mr. Martonyi delivers a lecture at the Rio Branco Institute in the Brazilian Academy of Diplomacy in Brasília and has a meeting with Brazilian Secretary of State Antonio de Aguiar Patriota. After this he opens the exhibition about the life of Raoul Wallenberg.
In memory of the 100th anniversary of Raoul Wallenberg, who is well-known for saving lives at the time of the holocaust, there is a memorial year held in Hungary. The series of programs started with an opening in Budapest in January.
