Ugandan Minister visiting HTCC Uganda

On Monday late afternoon Hon. Dr. James Shinyabulo-Mutende, Minister for Industry and Technology of Uganda and Balázs Lukács, representative of the Hungarian Trade and Cultural Center (HTCC) had an informal meeting with their guests; Sándor Gergely (Petkus Technologie Gmbh.), and Marcell Márton (Inagro Kft.).

They held talks about specific Ugandan agricultural developments and private-state cooperation possibilities. Dr. James Mutende, one of the most highly qualified ministers of the present „Museveni” government, spoke about government goals and the assigned resources, and also introduced the structural and access path of the offices. He said that implementation is a bit behind so they had changed their policy and now are working openly together with enterprises and the private sector, which can make processes easier and faster, not to mention the great opportunities that can help the appearance of new companies. Dr. Mutende handed over a program plan called „Government of Uganda Agricultural Projects for Private Investment and Public Private Partnerships (2013)” published by the government, which is trying to increase the demand for investment in certain areas for enterprises in agriculture. He welcomed Hungarian endeavor and ensured support for Hungarian businessmen. Over dinner at the end of the meeting the parties had the opportunity to learn more about each other’s countries.
