Budapest residents seek refuge from heat wave in baths, water parks

Visitor numbers at six baths and water parks in Budapest were up by 23 percent in June compared to the same month last year, sales and marketing director of baths operator Budapest Gyogyfurdoi es Hevizei Szilvia Czinege said on Thursday.
Since June visitor numbers at baths and water parks in Budapest topped 60,000 on two separate weekends because of an early summer heat wave. Budapest Gyogyfurdoi expects a significant rise in visitor numbers in July based on preliminary data, especially at the Dagaly, Palatinus and Csillaghegyi. Last month, ticket sales in the historic Szechenyi Baths were up by 11 percent and at Gellert by 23 percent, she added.
