A seven-year-old Victorian girl has died after becoming tangled in her skipping rope.
Emergency services were called to a Bairnsdale property yesterday afternoon, after the girl was found unconscious near a backyard swing set.
Bairnsdale police Detective Acting Sergeant Margaret Schulz says the girl had been playing with a skipping rope when the accident took place, leaving her family extremely distressed.
Paramedics found the girl suffering cardio-respiratory arrest at the scene and tried to resuscitate her on the way to to hospital, but she later died.
