Mel Doyle to leave Seven’s Sunrise

Melissa Doyle is leaving the Seven’s Sunrise program after more than a decade to host a primetime program on the network.

She says it’s been a privilege to have hosted the breakfast program since 2002, but it’s time for a new challenge.

Doyle will take annual leave before going to London to report on the birth of the royal baby next month.

She’ll return to Sunrise to say farewell after that.

So whilst it’s goodbye from breakfast television, it’s not goodbye from Seven, she said.

I’ll be part of new and exciting programs in the not too distant future. And I cannot wait.

Thank you to each and every viewer who tuned in each morning, for laughing with us, laughing at us and turning to us for your morning news fix.

Doyle thanked co-host David Koch and the rest of the crew for their support.
