NSW interstate drug ring smashed

A man and woman are expected to appear in a Sydney court as early as Monday with police saying they’ve dismantled a gang importing enough flu medicine to make 10 million dollars worth of the drug ice.

The Queensland-based network is accused of placing orders with importers for ContacNT on behalf of criminal gangs in NSW.

The over-the-counter flu medicine can be used to extract pseudoephedrine, then used to produce the drug ice.

Police say two men and a woman from the Brisbane area were also charged on Thursday with a raft Queensland and NSW drugs charges and appeared in Brisbane Magistrates Court yesterday.
