2010 World Cup stadium robbed

2010 World Cup stadium, Nelson Mandela Bay was attacked by armed robbers last week, after an international rugby match.

The robbery took place at the sports bar of the new Nelson Mandela Bay stadium in Port Elizabeth after a game between the British and Irish Lions and the provincial Southern Kings side. The South African Broadcasting Corporation quoted police as saying at least five robbers have been arrested.

The police said the robbers pounced on the bar on the stadium’s fifth level after a large police contingent had left the stadium. A small amount of money was taken, but nobody was injured.
