The challenges and the importance of a common effort towards sustainable social development are well known by the European civil society and the EU – therefore the partner organizations and the founding institutions are strongly committed to enhance horizons of cooperation in youth work between European and Latin-American NGOs.

The “Youth in Action” program with its ” Oceans divide, Youth Unites” project offers a unique opportunity for the exchange of diverse local methodological and theoretical approaches and real-life solutions on youth entrepreneurship and the integration of youngsters into a globalized labor market, with increasingly precarious conditions.

The project involves NGOs from 6 Latin American, and European countries (Paraguay – Puente Sur Paraguay, Bolivia – Fundación Aprendizaje en Acción, Spain – Jóvenes Dinamizadores Rurales, UK- Momentum World, Hungary – Fekete Sereg Ifjúsági Egyesület) with the common aim of fostering creativity, initiative and employability of local youth by the joint effort of partner organizations.

The 20 youth workers and 120 youngsters trained by the program are to act as multipliers in the future for active citizenship on local level, with global horizons – and expected to develop participative activities and good practices in local youth work, relying on the values of inclusion, diversity and sustainable development, in the framework of an international network of learning support.

Youth workers from the six NGOs also met the representatives of local and regional public institutions, to further discuss the force-multiplying role of voluntary work and civil society backed by solid institutional support.

The seminar was followed by job shadowing activities in Spain, Hungary and the United Kingdom, where the participants had a unique opportunity to share their experiences of youth work – in action.
