Migrants cut through razor fence on Hungarian border

Migrants arriving to Hungary from Serbia have once again cut through the NATO-wire fence on the joint border, public television M1’s correspondent reported from the site.

The migrants cut through the wire and threw clothes and sleeping bags through it so they could climb under or over the fence without being injured, the correspondent said on Monday.

Migrants arrive continuously by walking on the train tracks near Röszke where the railway crosses the border and there is no fence. Police officers guard this section day and night and escort migrants to a reception point.

The National Police Headquarters (ORFK) has sent 25 police investigators to the border to help fight human smuggling and reduce the number of illegal entries, spokeswoman Viktória Csiszer-Kovács told M1. The police officers help mainly in launching legal procedures against border offenders, she said.
