The accicent occurred in the Diffa region on Friday as thehelicopter was on its way from oil-rich Agadem to the Fachi oasis, Diffa prefect Inoussa Sauna said.
The wreck was found the next day after a search that involved the army and security forces, he added. The cause of the crash was not immediately known but an investigation has been launched.
A Chinese company has been producing oil in the desert region since 2011.
Since November, Niger has produced 20,000 barrels of oil a day.
